Rheobuild 2000B

Rheobuild 2000B is an admixture based on water-soluble sulphonated polymers.  When Rheobuild 2000B is added to concrete, the molecules of the polymer with a negative charge absorb on the surface of cement grains, causing an electrostatic repulsion among cement particles, thus making their dispersion in water easier and consequently, the mix much more flowable.  The action of Rheobuild 2000B is carried out even when Portland cement clinker is mixed with other materials (pozzolans, fly ash, slags) in the production of pozzolanic and slag cements.

Rheobuild 2000B provides rheoplastic (flowable and non-segregating) concrete with a water/cement ratio even lower than that obtainable with ordinary superplasticisers.  The slump of concrete containing Rheobuild 2000B is generally in the range of 200-260 mm, while the water/cement ratio is 0.3 to 0.4.  Therefore Rheobuild 2000B is used in the production of extra-high quality rheoplastic concrete with much higher strengths both at early and at later ages.  Moreover, the reduction in the water/cement ratio guarantees the improvement of all the other properties of hardened concrete (impermeability, durability, bond to steel, dimensional stability etc).
