Mastertop 1080 'Prestige' Result for Major Hino Service Centre

Located in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong South, Prestige Hino’s massive new state-of-the-art sales and service centre is not only one of the busiest facilities of its type, it is also one of the most modern and well appointed. Interestingly, even though this type of ‘prestige’ approach to business is more commonly associated with luxury cars than it is with truck sales and service, it has certainly proved to be a ‘winner’ with customers, and has undoubtedly played a major role in making Prestige Hino one of the most successful Hino truck dealerships in the southern hemisphere.

Officially opened during February by the Victorian Minister for Industry and State Development, the Hon Theo Theophanous MP, the new $20 million facility incorporates a major truck sales centre, state-of-the-art service centre and massive parts store – all of which have been developed with a focus on quality. Not surprisingly, this focus extends to all aspects of the facility, from its architecturally inspired design, through to the quality of the construction materials used.

In keeping with this focus on quality, when it came to selecting the floor for the service and workshop facility, the building’s designers specified Mastertop® 1080, an epoxy-based high build coloured floor coating from BASF Construction Chemicals.

Speaking about the new floor, Ken Gannan, Managing Director of Melbourne-based specialist applicators All Surface Coating Pty Ltd, commented:

“The Prestige Hino project was the first time that we’ve used Mastertop® 1080 and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The product was easy to handle and apply, it went down without any problems and, most importantly, it delivered the high quality, attractive finish that we wanted.”

Based on a high solids, two component epoxy resin system, Mastertop® 1080 provides excellent resistance to both chemical and mechanical damage, making it ideal for use in a wide range of facilities, including workshops, warehouses and carparks, and for floors in production facilities and processing plants. Supplied in a pre-packaged and proportioned kit form, Mastertop® 1080 is available in a wide range of colours and can be applied to both vertical and horizontal substrates.

Encompassing an area of some 7,300m2, the Mastertop® 1080 floor in the new Prestige Hino service facility was roller-applied in a an attractive ‘BASF Koala Grey’ colour. The finished floor delivers the ideal combination of hardwearing performance and aesthtics, and has helped deliver a service facility which is both attractive and functional.

Brendan O’Grady, Service Manager with Prestige Hino, commented:

“We’re extremely happy with the floor in the service facility. Not only does it look great, it is also very easy to clean and maintain - which means it will stay looking good for a long time.”

“What’s more, the floor is standing up well to the daily rigours of the heavy vehicle maintenance and engineering environment, and early indications are that it will also deliver the promised durability,” he added.
